Jennifer Shah, a cast member of Bravo's Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, was sentenced to 6 and 1/2 years in prison for running a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme
Shah, 49, pled guilty previously to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing.
Stein also sentenced her to pay over $6.6 million in reparations and forfeit $6.5 million, 30 luxury items, and 78 fake luxury items.
Shah's attorney, Priya Chaudhry, stated that the reality star "truly regrets the mistakes she has committed and is genuinely sorry to the people she has wounded."
"Jen believes in our legal system, recognizes that anyone who violates the law will face consequences, and accepts this sentence as just," Chaudry said in a statement.
Jen will repay society's debt, and when she is free again, she will repay the victims affected by her mistakes."
According to prosecutors, Shah was a key figure in the crime that targeted and victimised thousands of people around the country. The scam lasted from 2012 to March 2021, when she and her aide Stuart Smith were apprehended.
