Ken Block dies in a snowmobile crash

Ken Block, a pro rally driver and co-founder of Hoonigan, was killed in a snowmobile accident on January 2, 2023. He was 55 years old.

"It is with deep regret that we can report that Ken Block died in a snowmobile accident today," Hoonigan wrote in an Instagram statement.

"Ken was a pioneer, a visionary, and an icon. Most significantly, he is a parent and spouse. He will be sorely missed."

The accident occurred on Monday in Utah's Wasatch County when Block was riding on a steep hill and the 

snowmobile overturned and landed on top of him, according to the Sheriff's Office, as reported by Reuters. 

Block, who began racing in 2005, was crowned Rookie of the Year in the Rally America Championship.

The American's Gymkhana video series featured him driving on difficult tracks and obstacle courses.
